We are a busy but friendly Lancashire maintained school with lots going on. This website aims to provide visitors with a taster of our school, as well as providing up to date information for parents, children and the wider community.
As a Headteacher for thirteen years, I simply want our Nursery School to be the best it can be for all the children. I believe the success of a school is strong leadership and teamwork of all the staff who are passionate about doing only what is best for the children. That is exactly what you will find here in our school. For many years, I have worked supporting other schools as an Associate Headteacher for the local authority and I believe we need to build a strong and solid foundation for all children to support them on their educational journey.
As a maintained school with qualified teachers with a range of teaching experience across primary and early years education, along with highly qualified and experienced teaching assistants, we provide a high quality curriculum for all children to ensure they are well prepared for their education in primary school and beyond. A combination of the structured educational learning environment, high expectations of our whole school community of staff, parents, children and Governing Board along with excellence in teaching and learning ensures children can make rapid progress in their learning and development. When it comes to brain development, the first five years of a child's life are the most important therefore, what we do in those first five years are a key factor in the academic success of children later in life.
We are very proud of our nursery school and its fantastic facilities; visitors always comment on these, and I would be delighted to show you around Staghills Nursery School to see these first hand and meet our committed and hard-working staff team.
